WORKSHOP ON HEALTH ECONOMIC EVALUATION USING DECISION TREE ANALYSIS

Day : Friday and Saturday
Venue: Clinical Simulation Laboratory, UPM Teaching Hospital, Serdang
The workshop was conducted at the CSL, HPUPM. The workshop was attended by 22 participants from several universities and agencies nationwide.
The workshop covered topics on Economic Evaluation & Cost Effectiveness Analysis (CEA), Decision Tree, Decision Analysis & Expression CEA in a Decision Tree, Introduction to the Application and developing the Decision Tree, TreeAge, Scenario Explanation and Developing CEA model as a decision tree, Expressing CEA model in TreeAge – Demonstration, Developing CEA model in TreeAge, Interpreting the output of CEA model in TreeAge, Uncertainty (Sensitivity) Analysis and Common mistakes done by students from building a tree to result interpretation.
The lectures were delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Zafar Ahmed, a Health Economist from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, UNIMAS.

The Seminar was conducted at the CSL, HPUPM. The Seminar was attended by 29 participants from several universities and agencies nationwide.
We welcomed participants from University Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, UiTM, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysian Research Institute on Ageing (MyAgeing), Ministry of Health Malaysia HPUPM, Hospital Tuanku Jaafar Seremban, and one postgraduate student in Jordan (via Zoom).
The welcoming speech was delivered by the Chairman of Community Health Society Malaysia , AP Dr. Halimatus Sakdiah Minhat, and the lectures were given by Dr. Aidalina Mahmud, a public health specialist from the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
The Seminar covered topics on Introduction to Health Economics, Principles of Health Economic Evaluation, Efficiency and Equity and Using Health Economics in Decision-Making.
The one-day event also gave opportunities to participants to renew old friendships, make new friends, and get new ideas.
MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH 2022 APPRECIATION
The Community Health Society Malaysia awards the Public Health Medicine Prize annually to the best achiever in the Master of Public Health Program from the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine, UPM.
This year, the only two MPH students in the 2021/2022 session were recognised by the Society for their perseverance and effort in completing their studies successfully.
The appreciation was given by our Chairman, Assoc. Prof. Dr Halimatus Sakdiah Minhat in front of all lecturers and students during Orientation Day for Public Health Postgraduate students, which was held on 7th October 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.
