Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Day
Universal Health Coverage Day is a global moment to raise our voices for the millions still waiting for access to quality health care. It is a reminder to leaders and stakeholders to make smarter, sustainable investments in health and to reaffirm the fundamental right to health for all.
Universal Health Coverage means ensuring that everyone, everywhere can access the health services they need—ranging from health promotion and prevention to treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care—without facing financial hardship. Achieving UHC requires a strong health system supported by adequate, competent, and well-distributed health and care workers at facility, outreach, and community levels, working in safe and decent conditions.
For over 75 years, the World Health Organization (WHO) has stood with people and communities worldwide in advancing the vision of Health for All. Let us continue to work together to strengthen health systems and leave no one behind.

Human Rights Day
Every 10 December 2025, we commemorate Human Rights Day to remind ourselves that basic human rights belong to everyone — regardless of race, religion, gender, or background.
Today we also honour a global commitment that began in 1948, when the UNESCO placed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the heart of its mission, promoting human dignity, justice, and freedom through education and media.
This year’s observance calls us to:
– Embrace equality and human dignity
– Raise awareness among young people about the importance of human rights
– Inspire collective action to uphold and protect the rights of all individuals
Let’s work together to build a fairer, more compassionate, and inclusive community.
Human rights are our shared responsibility.

Universal Children’s Day — 20 November 2025
Today, we join the world in celebrating children everywhere and reaffirming our commitment to their rights, protection, health, and education.
Since its launch in 1954, this day marks key milestones in child welfare, including the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly.
UNICEF continues to lead global efforts to ensure every child is healthy, educated, protected, and respected — giving each one an equitable chance in life.
Let’s work together to create a safer, fairer world where all children can thrive.

WORLD DIABETES DAY — 14 NOVEMBER 2025
Today, we stand together with millions around the world to raise awareness on diabetes — a growing global health challenge that affects individuals, families, and communities.
World Diabetes Day was established in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in response to rising concerns about the increasing health threat posed by diabetes.
This global campaign now reaches over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries, keeping diabetes at the forefront of public and political attention — because awareness can save lives.
Let’s empower our community with knowledge, early detection, and healthier lifestyle choices.

World Immunization Day — 10 November 2025
Vaccination saves millions of lives every year. It helps the body build protection against infectious diseases and prevents outbreaks. Although vaccines are one of the greatest public health achievements, global immunization rates have not fully recovered since the COVID-19 pandemic.
Let’s continue to support immunization — a simple act that protects ourselves, our families, and our community.

10 October 2025 – World Mental Health Day 2025
“Together for Mental Health”
Today, we join the world in raising awareness about mental health — because mental health is a basic human right for everyone, everywhere.
Good mental health is essential for our overall well-being, relationships, and daily lives. Yet, 1 in 8 people globally are living with mental health conditions. Together, we can change the conversation — by sharing stories, showing support, and taking action that promotes care, inclusion, and hope.
Let’s stand united for a world where everyone has access to quality mental health care and support.

1 October 2025– International Day of Older Persons
The United Nations General Assembly, through Resolution 45/106, has designated 1 October as the International Day of Older Persons. This day is observed annually to honour the invaluable contributions of older persons and to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities of population ageing.
By 2050, more than two-thirds of the world’s older population — about 1.1 billion people — is expected to live in developing countries (excluding the least developed countries).
The fastest increase, however, is projected in the least developed countries, where the number of people aged 65 and above is expected to rise from 37 million in 2019 to 120 million in 2050 — an increase of 225%.
On this International Day of Older Persons, let us celebrate and appreciate the wisdom, love, and lifelong contributions of older people. Together, we can build a more inclusive and supportive society for people of all ages.
